FGS Global is seeking an experienced Data Scientist or Data Engineer with 5-8 years of experience to join our Data Science team. In this role, you will help build and maintain the infrastructure, data pipelines, and tools that power advanced analytics and machine learning applications across the firm. You’ll collaborate closely with developers, strategists, analysts, and international data teams, working within a shared global technical stack.
This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with both internal and external stakeholders, contributing to real-world projects while enhancing your communication and problem-solving skills. You will work alongside multidisciplinary colleagues to support fully integrated and high-impact campaigns for leading brands and issues. This position is based in the Washington, D.C. office and follows a hybrid on-site schedule.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and manage data pipelines and workflows that connect to internal and external data sources.
- Develop and maintain data warehouses and structured storage systems to support analytics and reporting needs.
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models, including generative AI applications.
- Build and maintain internal products that support both client-facing and operational use cases.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with developers, strategists, and subject-matter experts to define and deliver impactful data-driven solutions.
- Architect and maintain cloud-based infrastructure for scalable and reliable ML and data workflows.
- Translate real world business problems into structured analytical or technical approaches.
- Contribute to team-wide best practices for code quality, version control, and documentation.
Attributes
- A BA/BS degree in a related field, plus 5-8 years of relevant work experience
- Solid understanding of data engineering principles, including ETL, database design, and pipeline automation.
- Experience with machine learning, including model training, evaluation, and deployment in production environments.
- Experience working with modern data warehousing technologies (e.g., BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake).
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with SQL and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).
- Exposure to AI/ML workflows, including model training, evaluation, and deployment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially across distributed or cross-functional teams.
- Product mindset with the ability to balance technical excellence with practical business needs.
- Effective communicator able to translate complex technical topics for non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborative and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Curious, experimental, and motivated by solving meaningful real-world problems.
In Washington, DC the base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $80,000—$120,000 USD. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
