Summary
The Senior Proposal Specialist is a key player in F.H. Cann & Associates (FHC's) Business Development Team. Primary tasks include authoring compelling, winning proposals that highlight the strengths of FHC and adhere to corporate branding. The successful Senior Proposal Specialist candidate will perform primary functions in vetting proposal opportunities to respond to those that best align with FHC's services and values. They will oversee the processes in creating, managing, and delivering contract proposals prior to deadlines.
The Senior Proposal Specialist collaborates with other members of the Proposal Team and members of FHC's Leadership Team and other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) as needed to ensure proposals are accurate and contain all requested information as outlined by the Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements. This is a writing intensive role with emphasis on proposals in the collections and contact center verticals, with special attention to government and higher education opportunities. This position reports to the Director of Proposal Management and Development.

Duties Include, but are not limited to :
- Assist in the overall process of proposal development, from vetting potential opportunities through convincing technical writing, proposal submission (hardcopy delivery, client portal), debrief, and areas for proposal improvement.
- Writing - Ability to write persuasively while understanding the evolving landscapes of contact center and collections work, in tandem with internal changes made within the company. Be eager to learn about FHC and our market verticals which focus mainly on higher education and state / federal level opportunities for contact center and accounts receivable management projects.
- Organize material and complete proposal development according to set standards regarding compliance, order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
Be proficient and have experience with tracing a Scope of Work (SOW) into the overall proposal outline, highlighting specific requirements with references to the proposal or SOW for the ease of evaluators.
Maintain Standard Boilerplate / Content Library to account for updated records, files, and revisions.Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers to ensure compliance with RFP requirements.Maintain registration with Federal and State procurement systems to allow successful submission of proposals.Monitor client portal websites for RFP amendments, Q&A, etc. for current and upcoming RFPs.Collaborate with department heads and SMEs to obtain required content to consistently submit winning proposals.Assume responsibility as Project Manager for assigned proposals that may include leadership, internal SMEs, and consultants, holding those on the team accountable for quality content, deadlines, and editing sessions.When electronic delivery is not an option, ensure proposals are formatted according to required specifications and delivered timely and prior to submission deadlines.Create persuasive PowerPoint presentations highlighting proposals for which FHC has been shortlisted. Proficient or advanced PowerPoint experience preferred.Participate in color team reviews for other proposals the department is working on to ensure consistent voice, grammatical accuracy, and highlighting of discussed win themes.Be available to work nights and weekends as needed to meet deadlines. Required Education and Experience.
A bachelor's degree in English field or equivalent experience3 years professional writing experience2 years of State and Federal contract / proposal experience.Qualifications
Industry Knowledge - Experience in relevant industries or willingness to learn about FHC's related industries and FHC's systems, procedures, services, and our areas of expertise. Experience with large state and federal level proposals, in addition to GSA schedule experience is preferred.Superb Attention to Detail - Ability to read, comprehend, and synthesize technical RFPs to ensure complete understanding of all requirements so that proposals are compliant and comprehensive. Attention to detail is critical competency for this role.Organization - the successful candidate will be able to organize multiple concurrent proposals and adhere to timelines and due dates for pre-bidding conferences, submission of questions & answers, released addendums, submission requirements and dates, and requests for debriefing materials after notification of award.Ability to use and create graphics, call out boxes, and response strategies that underscore the winning advantages of selecting FHC as a vendor. FHC uses the Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. Experience and proficiency with this software - especially Adobe Illustrator to create custom infographics - is preferred.Research prior proposal submissions (both FHC and for prior bidders) for strengths and weaknesses, and leverage that analysis in strategizing compelling win themes and strong content development.Advanced MS Word skills required. Familiarity with SharePoint preferred.Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.Written Expression - The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing that are clear and compelling to proposal evaluators.Experience vetting opportunities as part of the Capture Management Process preferred (MyGovWatch.com and other opportunity tools) is preferred.Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
