Essential Duties:

• Complete order receipts by matching or pairing shipping documents with the corresponding pallet(s) to examine shipment contents and compare them with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy
• Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain stock inventory
• Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials through FedEx/UPS parcel systems
• Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping using hand tools, power tools, or postage meters
• Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space, availability, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes
• Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications
• Use office equipment such as computers, printers, copiers, Microsoft Office, barcode labeling software, and WMS software
• Knowledge of administrative and office procedures

Education:

Experience:

Previous work-related skills, knowledge, or experience in a warehouse environment is preferred

Skills/Knowledge:

• Teamwork – Works well in a team environment
• Attention to Detail – Must be thorough and attentive to detail when performing work
• Knowledgeable in shipping management, transaction software, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Well-organized and able to multitask but also attentive to detail
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to speak, read, and write English for effective communication

Work Environment:

• Associates primarily work in the warehouse and are exposed to moderate loud noise, vibration, chemicals, dust, mechanical hazards, and moving objects or other vehicles. They may also be exposed to cold and hot temperatures, inclement weather conditions, chemicals, mechanical hazards, and hazardous physical substances and fumes. Associates may interact with staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.

Physical Demands:

• Must possess the ability to sit for extended periods, be able to move and/or lift objects to 50 pounds often, and have specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception to read printed materials and a computer screen and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone or radio in moderate to loud work environments. The job involves walking and working on slippery surfaces
• Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator. Positions in this classification bend, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing to perform work. Associates must be able to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 80 pounds and heavier weights with the proper equipment
