The Director of Innovation plays a pivotal role in driving transformative initiatives by actualizing others' ideas and serving as a catalyst for FHLBank's future success. Reporting to the Head of Strategy and Innovation, this hands-on role is responsible for creating an innovation framework that streamlines the identification and development of innovative concepts, nurtures a culture of creativity and collaboration, and ensures successful implementation across the organization. The Director of Innovation is a highly visible and interactive role, responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing the innovation pipeline, ensuring prototypes and projects align with strategic goals, leading education sessions to help with training, understanding and adoption, and determining and presenting the measurable value of innovation initiatives.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in business, technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
5 to 8 years of similar or related experience is required.
Proven experience in leading innovation or product development projects, ideally in financial services or a related industry. Track record of driving cross-functional collaboration.
Technical proficiency in various programming languages, data visualization tools, modern data platforms, and process automation.
Strong leadership skills with a track record of educating and developing soft skills in others.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and inspire diverse teams across the organization.
Deep understanding of emerging technologies, their application to business challenges, and ways to safely use and integrate.
Strategic thinker with a passion for creativity, innovation, and delivering results.
Comfortable educating others on intentionality in decision-making and strategic thinking.
Ability to solve problems and handle a wide variety of challenges across different knowledge domains, learning and driving solutions without needing to become a subject matter expert.
Must be able to work and travel independently.
