Job Overview:
The Director of Logistics will lead strategic and tactical scaling of our logistics operations across North America. This position will be responsible for developing and executing a best-in-class logistics and distribution strategy that ensures on-time, cost-effective delivery of our products from current and future manufacturing facilities to customers nationwide. This position will be expected to manage complex, high-volume logistics networks and build high-performing teams, optimize freight strategies, and deploy modern logistics systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead all logistics operations from manufacturing plants to customer locations across North America.
- Build and manage a high-performance logistics team across multiple sites, including transportation managers, dispatchers, analysts, and third-party partners.
- Design and implement a scalable logistics infrastructure to support continued growth and customer service excellence.
- Optimize freight mode mix, carrier relationships, route planning, and load management to minimize costs while improving delivery performance.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, customer service, and sales teams to ensure seamless, on-time deliveries that meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with carriers, freight brokers, and 3PL providers to secure capacity and service reliability.
- Own key logistics metrics, including freight cost per unit, delivery lead times, and service level agreements.
- Leverage technology and data analytics to drive visibility, traceability, and continuous improvement across the logistics function.
- Develop and manage logistics budgets and long-range plans aligned with company objectives.
- Lead supply chain risk mitigation strategies, including contingency planning and geographic diversification of carriers.
- Represent logistics in executive discussions around growth planning, customer onboarding, and operational strategy.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field like Business Administration, Transportation and System Engineering.
- 10 years of progressive logistics and transportation leadership experience in a high-volume, multi-site manufacturing or distribution environment.
Proven success in leading logistics operations for large-scale B2B customers across wide geographies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Deep understanding of freight logistics (truckload, LTL, intermodal) and third-party logistics provider (3PL) management.
- Experience with logistics software, transportation management systems (TMS), and data-driven decision-making.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with experience managing distributed teams across multiple sites.
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract oversight capabilities.
All other knowledge, skills, and abilities that are reasonably aligned with this role, such as strong project management and organizational skills, time management skills, problem solving skills, ability to use necessary computer software, etc.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Periods of working on feet and using tools while managing Logistics duties.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment as required for safety.
