Fiber Network Services (FNS) is a communications contractor specializing in the construction of fiber optic and broadband cable networks. With Master Construction Agreements with Cox Communications, Comcast Cable, Segra, Suddenlink, Windstream, and RCN in the States of Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, Ohio, Florida, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and in Washington D.C., we are a trusted resource for construction and maintenance of high-speed internet connectivity via Fiber Optic and Coaxial systems.
FNS is looking to hire an experienced In-house Quality Control Technician for our Huntington/Culloden, WV location.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform walkouts post-construction and verify as-builtsTroubleshoot any build-out issues in the field
- Able to perform effective quality control of all project work performed
- Able to identify safe working conditions in an outside right-of-way environment
- Compile notice-to-proceed (NTP) packages for contractors
- Able to scope, plan and execute HFC projects to contractors and be able to track and manage project lifecycles, pay contractors, and submit to final client invoices.
- Provide weekly reports to management on construction activity
Job Qualifications:
- Must have 3 years of hands-on experience in HFC or similar outside network plant construction
- Experience performing walkouts post-construction and verify as-builtsTroubleshoot any build-out issues in the field
- Experience performing effective quality control of all project work performed
- Educated in local area dig laws
- Impressive ability to organize and prioritize projects
- Strong understanding of fiber and coax outside network plant
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft tools to create, manage, and present data and reporting to various stakeholders and management
- Interested and able to work overtime occasionally to meet project demands
- Must be able to walk extensively, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day
- Possession of a valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a drug screening
- Ability to pass a background check
- Education: High School diploma or G.E.D
