Directional drill locator

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Locator to join our team in a dynamic construction environment. The Locator will play a crucial role in identifying and marking underground utilities to ensure safe and efficient excavation and construction processes. This position requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation and adherence to safety protocols, particularly OSHA standards.

Duties

• Operate heavy equipment, including directional drills, excavators, and water trucks, to assist in the locating process.
• Conduct thorough site assessments to identify existing pipelines and utilities.
• Utilize specialized equipment for digging and building as necessary.
• Collaborate with construction teams to ensure accurate marking of underground utilities prior to excavation.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations, including OSHA standards, throughout all operations.
• Document findings and communicate effectively with team members regarding utility locations.
• Participate in horizontal drilling operations as required.

Experience

• Proven experience in heavy equipment operation is essential.
• Familiarity with construction site environments and practices.
• Experience with pipeline locating techniques is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of commercial driving regulations is a plus.
• Previous exposure to horizontal drilling methods will be advantageous.
• A strong commitment to safety and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
