Travel RN - Director of Nursing

Fiber Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Director of Nursing for a travel nursing job in Pecos, Texas. Director of Nursing ~ Shift : 8 hours, days ~ Employment Type : Travel Must have experience working in Operating Room as Director. Design and implement care and coordination of surgical services consisting of Operating Room, Pre-operative, Post-Anesthesia Care services and Anesthesia services. Director of Perioperative Services will be responsible for planning and organizing activities within the service line to ensure achievement of quality matrixes, exceptional patient outcomes and engaged staff, while partnering with the medical staff. Oversite of staffing, scheduling, education, regulatory, and compliance in all facets of the role. Associate Degree or Diploma in nursing. Bachelor or Master Degree preferred. Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the administrative, legal and ethical (mission, vision, and values) requirements / objectives of the organization. Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, utilizing benchmarking data to achieve higher levels of performance and quality control objectives. Maintains staffing as volumes change and works to identify opportunities to modify systems and processes to further improve quality or reduce cost. Directs and oversees program development, performance management, personnel activities, budget, and the provision of services. Works to ensure effective physician and staff relations. Oversees department operations. Attends and participates in required Nursing Service committees and meetings. Develops and empowers management teams to lead daily operations, resolve issues, manage employee performance, manage physician relations, ensure high quality patient care and service excellence, and ensure operational efficiencies. Maintains confidentiality while working with confidential matters on a daily basis. Interacts with patients, family members, Medical Staff members and other department managers on a continuous basis. Follows aseptic procedures and procedures for using precautions when involved in direct patient contact or handling potentially infectious materials. Provides teaching to patients both pre- and post- operation. Follows safety guidelines and policies for the Hospital District.
