Job Description
This job is responsible for operating a forklift for the purpose of moving, locating, stacking, and counting merchandise to support production shift assigned to. The individual is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the forklift and radio frequency and bar code equipment and may be also required to perform order filler and checker duties along with loading and unloading trucks. This job serves the production lines with all materials and supplies needed to maintain production output and removes material and supplies from the production area as required. They will be strictly accountable and responsible for recording all product transactions and product movements.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to drive a forklift; stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must routinely lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Must be able to move product up to 24 foot in length.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as eyewear and hearing protection. At times, may be required to use a safety harness during rail car work.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
- Maintains supplies of materials to production floor and routers.
- Removes finished products from the lines and routers.
- Removes goods from the shrink wrap area to the yard.
- Hangs bags of raw materials for the extruders.
- Clears out trash boxes and waste, scrap, and cut boards.
- Weighs up scrap and maintains proper paperwork for end of shifts.
- Keeps warehouse and storage areas neat and clean, including outside dumpster pad.
- Maintains proper inventory by using correct scanning procedures.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Education/Experience:
- 1-3 years forklift experience
- 1-3 years experience in loading and unloading trucks
- Experience in a fast pace manufacturing/shipping environment
- Ability to operate computers and radio frequency bar code equipment
- Must have good communication skills
- Must be team oriented and also be able to work independently
- Knowledge in the use of scanning guns
- Willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as scheduled
- Must be flexible on working hours during heavy business days
