Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Data Center Technician to join our team. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity and performance of our data center operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, with hands-on experience in various aspects of data center management, including cabling, electrical systems, and network configurations. The Data Center Technician will be responsible for ensuring optimal uptime and reliability of our infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain data center equipment including servers, networking devices, and storage systems.
  • Perform fiber splicing and manage cabling infrastructure to ensure efficient data transmission.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and systems to identify potential issues before they escalate.
  • Collaborate with field service teams to support installation and maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network schematics, configurations, and inventory management.
  • Assist in the setup of LAN environments, including Ethernet configurations using Cat6 cabling.

Experience

  • Proven experience in a data center environment or similar technical field is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of JunOS, Switch Topology, TCP/IP, Linux and Windows are a necessity.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems, NEC regulations, LAN setups, and cabling best practices is essential.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics related to network infrastructure and electrical layouts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and other departments.
