Fibertek is seeking a Lead Research Analyst to support the DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory. The DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory’s mission to operationalize science involves the pursuit and application of scientific advancement to enhance capabilities for the Soldiers of 2040 and beyond. To achieve this, it is crucial to investigate the intersection between Army Concepts and ARL’s foundational research competencies. Analyzing how Army Concepts influence foundational research investments and developing strategies informed by historical examples to improve the integration between science and Army Concepts are essential for progressing Army research towards fielded capabilities. This requires identifying opportunities and barriers to traditional and evolving Army processes at different hierarchical levels, along with conducting research to develop insightful recommendations. Additionally, as ARL’s foundational research evolves in response to technological advancement and collaborative learning opportunities, assessments are necessary to understand their impact on the development of Army Concepts. A senior researcher is needed to collect and assess relevant information, and formulate and manage strategies to better align scientific research with Army Concepts. This senior researcher will use their experience and knowledge of Army Concepts and science and technology linkages to enable foundational research to better inform and address the future needs of Army forces in an evolving Future Operating Environment.
Essential Job Duties:
- Conduct research and analysis on the intersection of Army Concepts and the foundational research competencies of the Army Research Laboratory (ARL).
- Develop strategies to enhance the integration of scientific research with Army Concepts, ensuring alignment with future Army needs.
- Identify opportunities and barriers in traditional and evolving Army processes at various hierarchical levels.
- Evaluate historical examples to inform research investments and integration strategies.
- Provide assessments on the impact of foundational research on Army Concepts as technology and learning opportunities evolve.
- Formulate and manage strategies to align scientific advancements with Army operational needs.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders within ARL and the Army Futures Command to ensure research is operationalized effectively.
- Generate reports and recommendations based on research findings to support Army research objectives.
Experience and Expertise Required:
- Extensive experience in Army Concepts, science and technology linkages, and operationalizing research for military applications.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct strategic research and provide data-driven insights.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of Army processes.
- Prior experience working with Army research organizations or within a military science and technology environment is preferred.
- In-depth understanding of Army research, development, and strategic planning.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage with stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Proficiency in preparing reports, presentations, and strategic documentation.
