Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Executing Product Changes in the Spinning Area
  • Removing and installing spin packs
  • Operating Spinnerette Burn out Ovens, Rinse Tanks and Ultrasonic Cleaners
  • Repacking and placing Spinpacks in preheat oven
  • Operating extruders (including start-up and shut-down)
  • Operating CIM system
  • Moving cans into creel area with Lift Truck
  • Product Change Line and set Conditions for new Products
  • Crimp/Melt Flow/Finish and Denier control Strategy for Process Line
  • Operating Balers
  • Operating Waste Balers
  • Operating Line
  • Cleaning Cutter Wheel, installing Cutter Blades, Installing Cutter Wheel into Cutter
  • Cleaning Balers
  • Operating Bale Labeling System

Qualifications

· EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

· MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Have working knowledge and can efficiently and properly use arithmetic in performing work: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, whole numbers, decimal numbers, percentages, measurements, and graphical interpretation.

· REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

· PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and distance vision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an environment, which is typical of a Manufacturing Process. This Manufacturing Process takes raw materials in different forms, mixes them, transports them and processes them with equipment, which utilizes many different forms of energy. Some of these are moving rotating parts, electricity, steam, hydraulics, pneumatics, and heat just to name a few. This Manufacturing Process like any responsible Manufacturing Process has processes in place to detect and control any employee At-Risk conditions. All these exposures have industrial monitoring to prevent employee exposure to levels, which could affect the employee’s Health and Safety. Additionally, Management of Change processes are in place to make certain new raw materials or changes to equipment/processes will not create exposures. From time-to-time this position may require working in different climate-controlled areas in the Manufacturing Process or outside the buildings.
