IS Vulnerability Response Specialist
Located at our Longview, WA office (This is not a remote position)
Fibre Federal Credit Union is seeking an IS Vulnerability Response Specialist for our Longview, WA location.
Wage Range: $25.10 - $39.22
* The range above allows our employees room for growth through annual merit and other pay increases based on performance. The target pay range for this position is typically within the first half of the range. Compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications.
Position will occasionally require working outside office hours and/or on weekends.

PRIMARY FUNCTION
- Identify, research, and mitigate system vulnerabilities.
- Configure, implement, and manage vulnerability tools and services (Windows System Update Service (WSUS), audit reports and findings, service alerts, patch management, etc.).
- Manage and maintain vulnerability ticketing system.
- Work with IS staff to plan and implement mitigation strategies.
- Assess tools and strategies to improve the security posture of the organization.
- Participate in project planning and implementation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in department and team security discussions.
- Manage and apply WSUS updates.
- Review security reports and findings, and mitigate or assign vulnerability tickets as appropriate.
- Work with IS staff to assess and prioritize vulnerabilities and their potential impact.
- Investigate potential tools to improve security and assess existing tools and systems for maximum benefit and efficiency.
- Employ vulnerability ticketing system to prioritize, log, and assign mitigation tasks.
- Update/patch systems as necessary and as permissions allow.
- Gather vulnerability information from internal and external sources and provide regular vulnerability reporting.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Position Knowledge - The individual is required to have the skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school, and aptitude conducive to training for the position.- Education - (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program or relevant experience.
- Transportation - The individual must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel to/from any services center or location, as the position requires.

- Planning/Organizing - The individual prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently, and develops realistic action plans.
- Quality Control - The individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors their own work to ensure quality.
- Dependability - The individual is consistently at work and on time (except for those cases protected by law which are outlined in the Employee Guide), follows instructions, responds to management direction, solicits feedback to improve performance, and successfully works under stressful and pressure-filled situations.
- Observes Policies/Procedures - The individual sets an example in observing (following) Credit Union policies and applicable Standard Operating Procedures, as well as those in the Employee Guide.
- Experience - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to think logically, solve problems, work independently, be capable of following detailed technical instructions, and be willing and able to continuously learn. The individual will also benefit from a general knowledge of personal computers and PC networking, Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems, the Microsoft Office suite of products, and data communication technology, and security considerations applying to each.
