Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce costs.
- Monitor mature production projects to identify opportunities for cost savings and process enhancements.
- Apply creative problem-solving to address operational challenges, safety concerns, workflow improvements, and production bottlenecks.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to drive continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and refine engineering and manufacturing processes to enhance productivity and quality.
- Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and best practices.
- Design tools, generate technical drawings, and create work instructions to support production.
- Assist in the development of automated and manual systems to optimize manufacturing operations.
- Provide input and support for staff training on new and existing processes, including documentation for training supervisors.
- Work closely with R&D engineers to test, develop, and validate new manufacturing processes.
- Act as a liaison between engineering, project management, and manufacturing teams to streamline production.
- Manage vendor engagement for hard goods, maintain vendor relationships, and evaluate potential new suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and workplace policies at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support company goals and initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Aerospace and defense industry experience preferred.
- Previous experience as a manufacturing engineer or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in CAD software with an understanding of tolerances and their impact on composite manufacturing.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software for documentation and data analysis.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
