Location: Lander, Wyoming
Job Type: Full-Time, 13-Week Contract
Qualifications & Requirements:
- AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, AHA PALS, NRP, & TNCC (Must be current)
- Valid WY RN license (or compact)
- At least 2 years of House Supervisor experience in a hospital setting
Job Summary:
The House Supervisor is responsible for the overall management and operation of patient care areas during the night shift, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care. This role includes developing day-to-day management strategies, long-term planning, and collaborating with medical staff to provide physical and psychological support to patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Staff Management:
- Select, orient, train, assign, schedule, and develop staff in the patient care area.
- Provide coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action when necessary.
- Communicate job expectations clearly and monitor job performance.
- Support human resource objectives and contribute to compensation recommendations.
Patient Care & Support:
- Ensure patient care goals are met through effective management and follow-up.
- Establish a compassionate environment providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, their families, and friends.
- Promote patient independence by teaching and counseling patients, families, and caregivers.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care plans.
Operations & Financial Management:
- Contribute to strategic planning and operational reviews, implementing productivity and quality standards.
- Maintain financial standards by monitoring expenditures and identifying variances.
- Develop and implement infection-control protocols to protect both patients and employees.
Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and nursing standards of care.
- Monitor patient health outcomes and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized working environment, ensuring all equipment is in working order.
Professional Development & Collaboration:
- Participate in educational workshops and professional societies to maintain and enhance technical and clinical knowledge.
- Foster a cooperative relationship among healthcare teams, ensuring effective communication and problem-solving.
