Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Sonography Supervisor to join our dynamic team. As the Sonography Supervisor, you will lead and manage the sonography department, ensuring high-quality diagnostic imaging services while overseeing a team of sonographers as well as assists the Radiology Manager with budgetary responsibilities, long range planning and the operational budget for the Ultrasound Department. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of sonographers, providing direction, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure the highest standard of diagnostic imaging services by overseeing the daily operations of the sonography department.
- Develop, implement, and maintain departmental policies and procedures in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Ensures that mandates from regulatory agencies are in compliance for quality imaging, quality control and quality assurance for sonographers, radiologists, physicists, equipment, and patient records.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of imaging results.
- Manage staffing schedules, ensuring appropriate coverage at all times.
- Provide training and education for staff, ensuring they stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices.
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of ultrasound equipment.
- Assist in budgeting and financial management of the department.
- Address and resolve patient and staff concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiography program. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a sonographer, including breast ultrasound experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
- In-depth knowledge of sonography techniques and equipment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Unionized environment experience preffered.
