We are looking for a Pool Deck Attendant to join the Fiddler’s Family and share their passion for hospitality with our members, guests, and fellow staff members. Fiddler’s Elbow hosts a wide range of events from comedy shows and concerts to Fourth of July celebrations and New Year’s Eve festivities, our annual FiddleFest Music and Food Festival, Member White-Out Party, golf outings and sporting events. We also host smaller clubs within the Club, such as our beloved Book Club and Cigar Club. Our members host many private events like weddings, social events, and celebrations of life milestones.
The Pool Deck Attendant is responsible for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of guests at a pool area by maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. They assist guests when moving chairs/umbrellas/tables, monitor the pool area for cleanliness, provide support when dishes move from the kitchen to the Control Table or Cabana, and ensure the successful operation of the set-up, food and beverage service and break down of Fundamentals Camp. This is an outdoor based position that involves constant customer interaction and multi-tasking ability. The Pool is open Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Essential Functions:
- Attend pre-function and/or post-function meetings
- Provide immediate attention to all Members & Guests
- Communicate respectfully and professionally to Members, Guests and Colleagues.
- Follow our technology practices, including use of iPads and the POS system- Club Essentials
- Possess ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Observe safety procedures during execution of assigned duties
- Ensure the Deck Configuration and Side-Work Procedures are completed.
- Tend to Member/Guest pool-related needs including, but not limited to, getting fresh towels, relocating chairs and/or umbrellas, issuing recreational equipment, etc.
- Regularly monitor and replenish bathroom supplies such as Personal hygiene products, Toothbrushes, Razors and other essential items.
- Aid in cleaning up dining areas, including clearing plates and resetting tables to maintain a tidy, welcoming environment.
- Ensure cleanliness of operation by Washing, Scrubbing, Wiping, or picking up objects/items.
- Assist in returning products or materials to their appropriate storage areas.
- Assist in portioning food items into correct serving sizes for efficient and consistent meal service.
- Know menu items and be able to explain the main ingredients and preparation methods if needed
- Oversee the distribution of meals to ensure guests receive their orders as requested.
- Transport and serve food to guests in their cabanas, ensuring prompt and courteous service.
- Wash & Sanitize Equipment as needed including but not limited to Lounge Chairs, Garbage Bins, Tables or Chairs.
- Assist in replenishing and installation of soda bibs, paper goods, etc. as needed.
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations and Fiddlers Elbow policies.
- Comply with all food and beverage procedures for handling and storing items in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Assist in other duties such as Cove or Towel Attendant as needed/assigned by Supervisor

Required Education:
- High School Graduate
- College Degree preferred
Required Experience/Qualifications:
- Must be able to communicate and understand the predominant language of our Members and Guests
- Must be able to work days/nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be a team player; possess the ability to collaborate and work well with others
- Prior service industry experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop and wipe to perform essential job functions
- Ability to lift and carry large trays weighing up to 30 pounds through a crowded room
- Ability to use both arms and hands
- Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
- Must be able to work indoor and outdoor environments
Safety Hazards:
- General food and beverage environment with some exposure to heat from cooking areas
- Lifting of heavy objects such as kegs, cases of beer, bottled water, Gatorades etc.,
- Handling of sharp objects such as flatware
