BASIC SUMMARY:

 

Fiddler’s Creek Management, Inc is seeking an experienced Payroll and Benefits Specialist to support our Payroll Manager and Human Resources department to ensure that payroll and benefit related tasks are processed accurately and efficiently.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

  • A minimum requirement of High school diploma or equivalent; BS/BA in business, accounting or a relevant field is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • At least 3-5 years' experience in employee benefits and compensation. 
  • Must have working knowledge of ADP payroll software.
  • Experience in hospitality processing payroll factoring in gratuities strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of legislation and regulations of the accounting field. Understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices.
  • Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality
  • Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office- particularly Excel is required.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviews timecards for accuracy.
  • Collects, analyzes, prepares, and inputs payroll data in databases and spreadsheets.
  • Corrects and guides supervisors and managers on payroll errors and omissions.
  • Communicate with employees and managers about payroll processes and respond to all payroll inquiries regarding paychecks, benefits, and taxes.
  • Manages direct deposit requests and data. 
  • Calculates and prepares check requests and mails checks for garnishments and other payroll deductions.
  • Ensures eligible employee reimbursement payments are accurate for payroll processing.
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Payroll and HR functions.
  • Adjusts pay for raises, bonuses, and assist in preparing and processing necessary paperwork.
  • Serves as back up to Payroll Manager for payroll processing as needed, producing accurate and timely payroll.
  • Manages all PTO requests on our ADP WorkForce Now platform.
  • Conducts audits of payroll records to ensure continued accuracy.
  • Audits active and terminated team members.
  • Prepare reports and analyses as requested.
  • Serve as the benefits liaison between insurance providers and employees.
  • Manages the process for annual benefits enrollment. 
  • Audits benefit enrollments to ensure that team members are signed up correctly with benefit carriers. 
  • Handles participant changes for medical, dental, vision and voluntary benefits 
  • Thorough knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA requirements.
  • Manages, assists and provides COBRA information to employees. 
  • Tracks FMLA and COBRA participation.
  • Monitors administrators’ and insurance carriers’ reports to ensure the organization’s compliance with plan requirements.
  • Reviews and processes benefit carrier invoices
  • Completes carrier benefit allocations.
  • Manages, collects and reconciles benefit payments
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS – ABILITY TO:

  • Grasp, lift, push/pull, carry or transport up to 15 lbs.
  • Perceive the nature of sounds at a normal speaking level and
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
