An Electrophysiology (EP) Technician in Asheville, North Carolina, plays a crucial role in assisting cardiologists with diagnosing and treating arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythms) by supporting electrophysiology procedures. citeturn0search2
Key Responsibilities :
Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology procedures, including ablations, device implants, Watchman procedures, and loop recorder placements. citeturn0search2- Operate specialized equipment such as X-ray, PACS, Cardio Lab, iStat, ESI, Carto, Arrythmia, and Cryo systems. citeturn0search2- Prepare and position patients for procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.- Monitor and interpret electrocardiograms (ECGs) during procedures to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment.- Maintain and troubleshoot electrophysiology lab equipment, ensuring all devices function correctly.- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in a fast-paced environment.- Provide patient education regarding procedures and address any concerns to ensure understanding and cooperation.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to remain stationary, move about, and handle equipment weighing between 50-100 lbs, including pushing, pulling, and bending. citeturn0search1
Qualifications :
