Position Purpose: Value-based care is the leading strategy in healthcare transformation and population health management aimed at improving positive health outcomes, advancing quality and ensuring equity in healthcare delivery today. As a data analyst of Value Based Payment initiatives, you will use your analytical skills to assist in the execution of the organization’s Value Based Payment (VBP) strategies. This position will be responsible for working with the VBP team and other cross-functional departments in the management of multiple VBP relationships.


In this Data Analyst III, Value Based Payment role, you will:

  • Provide analytical support to enhance VBP model strategies and contracting relationships aimed at reducing avoidable costs and improving health outcomes, in alignment with the New York State Department of Health and Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ Value Based Payment programming. Support exploration of additional VBP models across the Fidelis product portfolio.
  • Serve as the lead data analyst for contracted Provider Groups, Independent Physician Associations (IPAs), Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), Hospital and Health Systems and other contracting entities providing utilization insights on population health segments to inform recommendations on opportunities for cost and quality improvement.
  • Advance expanded efforts in Social Determinants of Health strategies aimed addressing non-medical factors that influence health outcomes and equity across the delivery system.
  • Create and build reporting for multiple data platforms for Fidelis product populations for internal use in Fidelis business decisions and to share with VBP partners. Work closely with the internal IT team to resolve any issues related to the operation of these data platforms.
  • Communicate areas of opportunities identified through various reporting efforts with VBP partners. Recommend reporting enhancements based on VBP partner feedback and needs identified through regular use of existing reporting tools.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience. MBA, MHA, or MPH is preferred. 4 years of statistical analysis or data analysis experience. 1-3 years of relevant healthcare experience preferred. Experience managing projects or heavy involvement in project implementation. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL required. SAS experience and knowledge of Tableau or an equivalent data utilization tool is preferred. Knowledge of population health management, medical expense, and quality performance analysis is preferred.


Please note: This position is remote, but will require some travel to the Long Island City, NY office, as needed.

Pay Range: $68,700.00 - $123,700.00 per year

Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives.
