Atco Products is located in Ferris, Texas, is an IATF / ISO9001 Certified tubing / hose assembly manufacturer of high-quality automotive and heavy-duty truck components and assemblies. Both original equipment suppliers and aftermarket customers have relied on Atco Products to meet their OE production components and in / out of warranty service and parts requirements for more than 50 years.
POSITION SUMMARY :
As the Production Operator, you will have the opportunity to operate equipment that takes steel tubing or castings and machine them to spec so they can be ready for finishing and / or wash produced and / or finished parts. Machine operators are expected to operate specific machines after receiving the pertinent training needed.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Is familiar with and follows all work instructions that apply to the job.
- Loads and runs equipment and machines.
- Makes necessary machine adjustments to maintain tolerance or notifies Area Leader when adjustments are needed, depending on specific machine operating instructions.
- Unloads machine and stacks parts accordingly for material handling.
- Properly tags product at each stage of the process, according to the shop criteria.
- Keeps track of pieces produced.
- Washes / cleans parts produced by the production team.
- Performs all visual inspections and dimensional checks called for on the product's router, using the gages or measuring equipment specified. Records or charts results as needed.
- Stops production and notifies Area Leader when nonconforming parts are found.
- Changes tooling at specified intervals or when wear becomes excessive. Sharpens tools at grinders provided, or returns tools to Tool Room for sharpening, depending on shop criteria.
- Notifies Area Leader about problems with machine operation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
Previous experience in an industrial manufacturing environment (Preferred).High school diploma or general education degree (GED) (Preferred).Experience abiding by IATF / ISO9001 (Preferred).KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES :
Bilingual English / Spanish is preferred but not required.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.Ability to successfully develop production associates to their full potential.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
