Job Description: The Role The Vice President, Financial and Trust Planning Lead is responsible for: The creation and delivery of timely thought leadership on topics of interest to Wealth clients, with particular focus on financial, tax, trust & estate planning. Work within team and across Fidelity to develop and deliver content in written format, large scale webinars, through social media, or via public relations. Partnering with Marketing and Social teams to enhance Fidelity’s Wealth presence and build brand in the marketplace through advanced wealth topics. Driving Advanced Wealth Planning solutions and experience. Developing planning 'plays' that are coordinated across Financial Solutions team, and Wealth Management Experience team (product and service bundles), working with Financial Planning & Advice Services team to ensure integration with planning tools, driving for digitization and automation. Working with Learning & Development organization to educate and propagate such planning plays with advisors for presentation to clients and prospects. Driving trust solutions by educating current advisors and clients on trust strategies and implementation alternatives and seeking opportunities to reach new advisors and clients.. Individual Trustee Business Analyze trust registration business for future opportunities. Develop strategies for advisors to engage individual trustees on intergenerational wealth transfer. Corporate Trustee Business Develop strategies to engage advisors on driving proprietary solutions through Fidelity Personal Trust Company. Develop strategies to engage advisors on referrals to FI business partners for bifurcated trust strategies where Strategic Advisors can act as investment manager. Identify gaps in our wealth products and services and ideating on the insourcing or outsourcing of solutions as appropriate. The Expertise and Skills You Bring Any of the following designations: CPA, JD, M.T., LLM in taxation, CFA or CFP preferred. 13 years experience in income tax planning, succession planning, or trusts and estate planning within a public accounting, law practice, or wealth management industry environment. FINRA Series 7, 66 preferred upfront or obtained within 90-days of hire. FINRA Series 24 preferred upfront or obtained within 1-year of hire. Retirement, financial, investment, insurance, estate planning, family wealth transfer planning, wills/trusts, income taxation, and trust and estate taxation knowledge (required). Experienced in working with business owners, start-ups/Pre IPO companies a plus. Communicates complex subjects clearly and effectively. Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams. Effectively coaches, develops, and utilizes team members. Thrives in a team environment to commercialize an exceptional planning experience Works independently, balances competing tasks, and prioritizes work to maintain efficiency. Maintains a positive professional attitude, with a thoughtful approach to delivering successful customer outcomes. The Team The Advanced Wealth Services team is a key part of the Wealth Solutions domain and sits more broadly within Fidelity’s Wealth business unit. The team is passionate about wealth management and advanced planning topics for all prospects and clients and focuses on a coordinated set of solutions, to drive greater financial wellness. Its work focuses on helping clients navigate the intersection of financial, investment, tax, trust and estate planning and the complexities and tradeoffs that arise when trying to optimize across these disciplines.
