Fidelity Building Service Group is looking for a motivated Outside Sales Business Development Manager / Estimator in Central/Western Virginia. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships with potential clients, and driving company growth.
Key responsibilities include selling preventative maintenance contracts, recommending equipment replacements and providing tailored service and repair solutions for HVAC systems.
The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in business development within the commercial HVAC service industry, strong mechanical expertise and proven estimating skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to generate new leads through channels such as cold calling, networking, referrals, LinkedIn, and EVA.
- Identify and research potential clients and business opportunities within the Commercial HVAC Service and Controls sector.
- Conduct meetings and presentations to prospective customers, promoting the company’s services and unique value propositions.
- Utilize CRM software (Sales Manager) to manage leads, contacts, sales activities and proposals, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records. Reports from this system will update management on business development activities, pipeline status and conversion rates.
- Prepare estimates and customized proposals tailored to meet the needs of prospective customers using Sales Manager.
- Communicate with vendors to negotiate prices and timelines.
- Respond to bids and submittals based on specifications outlined in bid documents.
- Conduct site visits to understand project requirements and provide accurate bids.
- Partner with Branch Managers to ensure proposals align with client requirements and company capabilities.
- Address client inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally.
- Complete post project reviews to identify areas of improvement.
- Submit detailed expense reports with receipts for all qualifying business expenses.
- Travel as needed for the territory assigned (usually less than 2 hours).
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development or as a technician in the Commercial HVAC Service with proven sales experience.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
