Job Summary:
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Intake Coordinator to join our team. The Intake Coordinator will be responsible for managing patient intake processes, ensuring accurate data entry, and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients in a professional and friendly manner
- Collect and enter patient information accurately into the system
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations
- Schedule/coordinate patient visits with state agencies and case managers
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries
- Handle matters related to pending non-skilled cases from the start of the intake process to the final scheduling of MCO service coordinator visit
- Communicate on a routine basis with DHS/CAO/MCO to maintain smooth relations and to obtain critical information for continued patient eligibility for benefits and assist in the appeal process when needed
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a medical office or similar role preferred
- Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of HIPAA regulations
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to operate phone systems effectively
- Second language is a plus
