Job Description :
The Head of Equity Technology is responsible for the technology vision, strategy, business engagement and governance for the technology portfolio supporting research, trading, and portfolio management capabilities of Fidelity’s Equity division. This position reports to the Head of Asset Management Technology and is a key member of AM Technology senior leadership team. This motivated individual will partner closely with the business leadership team to provide technology vision and solutions that deliver outstanding value to investment teams by balancing speed to market, innovation, automation, and operational efficiency!
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
We are looking for expertise in leading distributed, global organizations including ownership of strategy, budgets, and talent management through different types of business life cycles. Extensive experience in financial services specifically equity, with deep knowledge of investment capabilities and investment management technology. This will include vendor and custom portfolio analytics, portfolio construction platforms, portfolio optimization, trading platforms (OMS / EMS) and other key components of the investment lifecycle. The ability to lead, frame and discuss complex issues with key partners (technical and non-technical) in a straightforward manner to align technology strategy decisions with business priorities. You will also be expected to :
- In partnership with business leaders, develop a vision for the equity technology platform and align the team and the work to that vision.
- Develop a deep understanding of key business strategies and products, the investment process, and the needs of the investment professionals.
- Manage a $55 million annual budget, facilitating cohesive IT prioritization and decision-making for technology spend with key stakeholders. Apply a commercially aware mindset, balancing cost and business value.
- Demonstrate sound judgement, balancing the greater good of the firm with the specific needs of the equity business partners.
- Engage collaboratively across business groups and functions, breaking down silos and bringing together talent to leverage the scale and breadth of the technology organization.
- Develop and foster a high performing leadership team. Identify, acquire, mentor, and reward the best talent; build a culture of continuous learning, develop the right career paths for associates.
- Guide agile teams to deliver against established product roadmaps with speed and quality in a highly collaborative IT shared service model.
- Drive innovation, adoption of emerging technologies and scalable technical practices across the organization.
- Provide oversight and direction to major programs being executed within the group including representation to Fidelity senior leadership of progress and accomplishments.
- Work within a matrixed organization, building relationships and leveraging horizontal capabilities across the firm.
- Collaborate and influence with an ability to affect change.
- Possess a minimum of 15 years' relevant experience.
