Director, Observability Platform Technology
The Role
Fidelity is seeking a seasoned Director, Squad Leader to join our Observability Platform COE. You blend deep engineering expertise with a passion for delivering results. You are the end-to-end gatekeeper of the squad mission, strategy, and tactical execution associated with delivering on strategic priorities. You will partner with other Fidelity leaders to influence the broader strategic decisions, roadmaps, and resource requirements, set and refine the mission, and lead an engineering team to execute and deliver. You will ensure alignment on the "what" and "when" of the work to be performed through ongoing planning and prioritization of a product backlog. You will enable squad members to work iteratively, innovate through testing and experimentation and learn from failures while celebrating success. You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to ensure you bring the latest thought leadership to your role. In this role you will be :
- Defining, refining, and communicating the squads' mission and roadmap to motivate and build squad and partner support and alignment.
- Anticipating, discovering through ongoing interaction with, and prioritizing client / partner needs to serve as their voice and guide execution of the squad.
- Partnering with teams across the enterprise to enable delivery of key capabilities to facilitate adoption of the enterprise observability platform.
- Making informed trade-off decisions to strike the right balance between quality, cost, and timelines.
- Defining, evaluating, and communicating results against acceptance criteria.
- Inspecting and evaluating progress and removing impediments.
- Measuring performance against established objectives and KPI's that deliver on agreed upon business, technology, and people results.
