The Fidelity Workplace Consulting Group is composed of over 400 professionals who administer and advise clients on their retirement benefits. We are a part of a fast-growing business within Fidelity providing a broad range of services that touch on every area of benefits design, strategy, funding, communication, delivery, and administration.

The Retirement Analyst blends deep Defined Benefit domain expertise with a passion for teamwork, innovation, and client management. This role is primarily responsible for establishing a team environment by providing direct leadership, technical expertise and workflow management to associates assigned to their defined benefit clients serviced from a consultative perspective.

The Expertise You Have

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5-10 years of defined benefit/pension plan administration experience
  • Ability to balance day to day management of several project related responsibilities and tasks including highly prioritized requests.
  • Demonstrate leadership ability with self-motivation and determination
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills including ability to perform complex manual calculations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access and working experience with data analytics

The Skills You Bring

  • You will be responsible for reviewing all types of pension and post-retirement health and welfare transactions
  • You must be technically inclined with application experience and competence including proficiency with various Defined Benefit Plan structures, complex calculations and data (e.g., Excel, Word, Access, etc.). Ability to perform calculations using directions documents.
  • Good communication, both verbal and written; ability to implement/facilitate change. Forward looking, analytic, continuous improvement mentality
  • Demonstrate a mix of analytics and technical skills.
  • You have a solid ability to balance, prioritize multiple projects and understanding of risk management and time management
  • You have an ability work within budgeted timeframes to maintain client profitability without sacrificing quality

The Value You Deliver

  • Act as a subject matter professional of end to end processing of calculations, participant issues resolutions, disbursements and data updates
  • Provide leadership on ad hoc client or internal projects that will require critical thinking and self-direction.
  • Provide information and advice on Plan documentation discrepancies and/or guidelines, e.g. data, provisional, or other plan/client issues.
  • Analyze, review, and guide client teams to the resolution of escalated client or participant issues.
  • Serve as a team leader and expert guide on multiple client plan processes, procedures and calculations. Maintain client direction documents
  • Own and analyze operational issues and recommend business solutions, based on knowledge of client’s plan design and system functionality. Work with internal teams to identify, analyze, and implement process and procedural changes based on new regulatory amendments and/or administrative improvements.
  • Play a significant role in implementation, corporate actions and/or other special projects in addition to the provision of ongoing services. Ensure defects are identified, corrected and tested.
The base salary range for this position is $52,000-$83,000 per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.

Fidelity’s hybrid working model blends the best of both onsite and offsite work experiences. Working onsite is important for our business strategy and our culture. We also value the benefits that working offsite offers associates. Most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office.
