Job Description: The Role The Quantitative Trading Strategist, as part of the Systematic Trading team, sits at the intersection of the investment process, quantitative analysis, data science, and technology to provide cutting edge execution services on the Fidelity Management and Research (FMRCo) Equity Trading Desk. The quantitative trading strategist will help drive the core capabilities of the systematic trading effort through data analysis, model building, and developing trading strategies leveraged within the systematic trading effort. The position is based in Boston and will report to the Head Trader, Global Systematic Trading. The Value You Deliver Develop models and analysis for evaluation of trading tools used in systematic trading process for the purposes of understanding and minimizing trading costs. Contribute to the design and development of automated systematic trading system. Work with traders, quants, data scientists, and developers/engineers to advance systematic trading efforts Develop analytics and visualizations (offline and real-time) to support the development of systematic trading effort Manage the generation, handling, and storage of data used in systematic trading Support and participate in other quantitative efforts on the desk The Experience and Skills You Bring The ideal candidate will have demonstrated consistent success in their academic and work experience. They will have very strong quantitative, analytical, and communication skills and exhibit the highest level of personal and professional integrity. In addition, the ideal candidate will have: Undergraduate or Graduate degree in mathematics, statistics, data science, economics, engineering, or other quantitative disciplines. Strong programming skills using Python, KDB/Q, R, or Matlab required. Understanding of relational database and SQL/Snowflake. Understanding and experience of working with Equity Trade and Market data. 5 years of experience in a quantitative/analyst role in equity trading. Knowledge of equity markets and microstructure. Knowledge/experience with mathematical modeling applied to trading for post-trade analysis as well as strategy development. Ability to think creatively and independently while working in a collaborative environment. Self-starter, capable of developing new tools and capabilities to solve novel problems facing the trading desk. Track record of intellectual curiosity and a passion for problem solving. Team-first mentality who is flexible, ability to multitask, and willing to pitch-in where needed. Knowledge of the following is highly desirable: Investment Management life cycle, equity trading strategies and algorithms. Knowledge/experience with systematic/automated trading. Bloomberg terminal, data & related APIs.
