Job Title: Production Manager – 2^nd Shift

Reports to: Plant Manager

Department: Production

Location: Ocala, Florida

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000

Job Summary:

The 2nd Shift Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing all production activities during the 2nd shift. This role ensures that production targets are met with high quality and efficiency, while maintaining safety and compliance standards. The Assistant Plant Manager will also facilitate communication between shifts and support employee development and morale.

Responsibilities/Functions to Include, But Not Limited To:

• Increased Supervision: Provide dedicated supervision to ensure better quality and productivity during the 2nd shift.
• Better Communication: Ensure effective communication between shifts to pass on important information and updates.
• More Efficiency: Identify and address bottlenecks or inefficiencies within the 2nd shift.
• Employee Morale: Boost employee morale and offer support, leading to higher job satisfaction and retention.
• Safety and Compliance: Maintain consistent safety protocols and compliance standards across all shifts.

Functions and Value Addition:

• Operational Oversight: Oversee daily operations to ensure production targets are met and quality standards are maintained.
• Resource Allocation: Allocate resources, including manpower and materials, effectively to optimize production processes.
• Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues that arise during the shift, minimizing downtime and disruptions.
• Training and Development: Provide training and support to employees to enhance their skills and performance.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate employee performance, provide feedback, and implement improvement plans as needed.
• Coordination with First Shift: Ensure smooth transition and coordination between the first and second shifts.
• Safety Management: Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular safety audits to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements:

• Strong sense of urgency, time-sensitive, and highly motivated.
• Ability to carry out detailed written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with personnel of other departments.
• Willingness to work flexible hours.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to solve basic mathematical equations.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional eye/hand coordination skills.

Education/Experience Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Five plus years of experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
• Skilled in analyzing blueprints and developing production processes.
• Competent in using precise measuring tools and interpreting technical documents.

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to stand and/or sit for long periods.
• Walk on non-forgiving surfaces such as concrete, wood, and metal.
• Climb stairs, balance, stoop, crouch, and crawl.
• Use hands to handle and feel; reach with hands.
• Lift, push, pull, and/or move more than 50 lbs. without a mechanical aid.
• Work in a manufacturing warehouse atmosphere with extreme temperature changes, loud noises, and machinery with moving parts.
• Some outside exposure may be required.
