- Pay Rate: Rate may vary due to local or non-local contracted rates: $60-70 combined Rate of pay. (Pay packages are a combination of taxable hourly rates, tax free allowances for travel, housing, and meal allowances)

High-level knowledge of cardiac medicine
- Proficiency at operating EKG equipment and interpreting EKGs
- Strong oral communication skills to interact effectively with patients, physicians and other staff
- Leadership skills to direct the efforts of other staff and provide effective coaching
- Knowledge of health information software used to maintain patient records
- Multitasking ability to monitor and care for multiple patients at once
- Crisis management skills to respond to emergencies calmly and professionally
- Thorough understanding of infection control, privacy laws and health and safety regulations
Medical Administration:
o Administer prescribed medications and treatments, observing for side effects or reactions.
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
o Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care plans.
o Prepare patients for surgical procedures and ensure proper recovery after surgery.
Monitoring and Reporting:
o Observe patients’ responses to treatments, changes in symptoms, and complications.
o Report any significant changes in patient conditions to physicians or senior nurses.
o Maintain knowledge of patient charts and documentation according to hospital policy.
Patient Education:
o Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and recovery processes.
o Provide guidance on home care, medication regimens, and lifestyle modifications.
Infection Control and Safety:
o Adhere to strict infection control protocols.
o Monitor patients for signs of infection, particularly after surgery.
o Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during their hospital stay.
Team Collaboration:
o Work as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, which may include doctors, physical therapists, and other nurses.
o Participate in shift handoffs and communicate effectively with other team members about patient needs and status.
Emergency Response:
o Respond appropriately to medical emergencies, including assisting in life-saving procedures when required.
o Use critical thinking skills to assess and react to changes in patient status.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: Registered Nurse (RN) with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Licensure: Valid state RN license.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) may be required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a medical-surgical unit is often preferred.
