The Licensed Practical Nurse will work from MondayThursday 9 : 00 am 2 : 00 pm (20 hours per week). Any other schedule not listed above will be reviewed and / or approved by the center management.
Duties / Responsibilities
The development implementation and monitoring of the total center health and wellness program to help students become and stay employed including :
Advising the center director and health services staff on all medical and healthrelated matters. This shall include the advisability of medical separations including the furnishing of diagnosis prognosis and recommendations for future care; the utilization and cost of services; the personalization of patient care; and any other health areas deemed appropriate by the Health and Wellness Director (HWD) center physician and center director.Consulting with center staff on ordering accounting for and safeguarding health equipment supplies and medications.Develop a system to promote the coordination and integration of the health components (Medical oral health mental health environmental health and health education) with other center activities. This will be done with the HWD center physician center dentist and center mental health consultant.Ensuring the maintenance confidentiality and safeguarding of all health records.Staying current on Job Corps policies and procedures via frequent communication with the centers HWD center physician review of the Job Corps Health and Wellness website and participation in any national center NP or physician teleconferences.Personal Authorization
Take evaluate and record comprehensive health histories and perform cursory medical inspection for each student within the first 48 hours after arrival at the center.Perform comprehensive physical examinations required to evaluate health status and acute and / or chronic medical problems within 14 days of students arrival at the center. This includes PAP tests for females 21 years old or older upon entry as well as breast exams for all female students and testicular exams for male students during the exam upon entry.Order conduct and interpret appropriate screening studies tests and diagnostic procedures used to assess and diagnose problems and establish management / treatment plans.Diagnose treat and manage acute episodic and chronic illnesses minor traumas and behavioral / psychological problems.Initiate consultation requests and work in collaboration with specialists and other health professionals as appropriate.Teach counsel and advise students about current health status illness(es) and health promotion and disease prevention activities.Prescribe nonpharmacological therapies and pharmacological agents to include schedulecontrolled substances within the scope of specialty of nurse practitioner / physician assistant.Provide Quality Medical Coverage The Following LPN Services Will Be Provided :
On site : The LPN will be present on site at center for the contracted number of hours on agreed upon days which would be during the Monday through Friday work week (except on designated holidays and as agreed upon).Schedule will be determined by Center Director or his / her representative in conjunction with the center LPN
Oncall (extended) coverage : When not onsite including after 5 : 00 p.m. Monday through Friday and weekends the LPN (or his / her substitute) will be available on an oncall basis for telephone consultation and disposition.Oncall services will be billed at the same hourly rate as NP onsite services (per hour of telephone consultation) only when / if telephone consultations are requested.
