Job Description: Position Description: Maintains datasets to obtain valuable insights using SQL or Python. Coordinates various databases and data warehouses using Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) testing. Works in an Agile environment using Agile methodologies and tools -- Jira / Jira Align to manage databases. Improves data engineering solutions in cloud environments and enterprise data lakes using database technologies -- Snowflake. Translates business requirements into data solutions by defining use cases and simplifies complex concepts by writing SQL queries in Snowflake. Primary Responsibilities: Analyzes, designs, and develops data analysis services to support integrated enterprise analytics platforms. Identifies and defines data needs and contributes to data ingestion. Delivers high value data products for enterprise analytics initiatives. Translates business requirements into data solutions by defining use cases and simplifying complex concepts. Identifies data quality issues, risks, and overall trends by leveraging data analysis and data profiling methods. Defines robust test scenarios by analyzing test data. Builds and provides robust data solutions by leveraging data management and data modeling practices. Defines user stories and validates the impact of changes to datasets and data models. Identifies alternative approaches and makes recommendations on the benefits and shortcomings in datasets and data models to support integrated enterprise analytics platforms. Analyzes data to write requirement and user stories for developers. Builds data analytics and reporting platforms to deliver end-to-end cloud-native digital solutions for the enterprise. Creates Data models in Power designer to define user stories and validates the impact of changes to datasets and data models. Creates a data catalog that helps organize, identify, understand, and manage the data sets in Alation. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior IT Data Analyst (or closely related occupation) performing data analysis, profiling, and modeling in a financial services domain, using SQL, PL/SQL, and Python. Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior IT Data Analyst (or closely related occupation) performing data analysis, profiling, and modeling in a financial services domain, using SQL, PL/SQL, and Python. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) translating business requirements into data driven solutions (to create conceptual and physical models) using SAP Power Designer; supporting unstructured and semi structured data storage design patterns using AWS-S3, Kafka, and Snowflake; and parsing out attributes from data to identify patterns, using SQL, KSQL, or PL/SQL. DE developing data profiling frameworks using SQL and Python; performing end-to-end data analysis and sourcing (to target data mapping) using Oracle, Snowflake, and ICEDQ; and establishing governance and dictionary data practices using Alation and Collibra. DE designing and implementing data movement processes for data warehouses or datalakes by developing mappings and ETL workflows, using Informatica, Apache Nifi, or Control-M; and deploying code changes using Github or Jenkins. DE performing story creation, backlog refinement, and sprint planning according to Agile methodologies (Jira), within a financial services compliance environment.
