Introduction:
Operation Indy Animals is launching the implementation of a 5-year citywide animal welfare strategic plan for Indianapolis/Marion County. The citywide plan was developed over a one-year period of work that included community surveys, local leader interviews and focus groups, comparative research of other communities with model programs, visioning/goal setting, and action planning meetings. Operation Indy Animals is now focused on implementation of the plan in order to create a strong, collaborative, and unified network to drive positive progress and long-term change for companion animals in Indianapolis/Marion County.
Job Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating the work of the oversight board, working groups, contractors, and other stakeholders. The Project Manager will work to ensure that all team members stay on track to achieve the multiple action steps and benchmarks each year through the various strategies developed to realize each of the five overarching goals of the strategic plan
Responsibilities:
- 15-20 hours per week.
- Coordinate the work of the oversight board, five working groups, various sub-committees spun off from the working groups, software developers, and other stakeholders.
- Schedules, attends, and takes meeting minutes at each monthly meeting of the oversight board and the five working groups. Potentially also attends various sub-committee meetings spun off from the working groups.
- Establishes effective project communication plans and ensures their execution.
- Manages teams with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities.
- Checks in regularly with all project team members to ensure they are on track with project deliverables, budgets, and deadlines.
- Works closely with contracted web developers to ensure they are on track with project deliverables and deadlines.
- Meets with project team members, as needed, to identify and resolve issues.
- Manages plan change requests.
- Facilitates change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget.
- Contributes to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving plan implementation.
- Conducts post-project evaluation and identifies successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Coordinates the development of user manuals, training materials, and other documents as needed to enable successful implementation and turnover of the process or system.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree or master's degree in a related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- 5 years proven experience in project management.
- Ability to lead project teams of various sizes and see them through to completion.
- Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies.
- Experience as an IT project manager, or ERP project manager a plus.
- Able to complete projects in a timely manner.
- Understanding of ERP implementation.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Competency in team applications, including Zoom, Google Drive and DropBox.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: Up to $35,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
