3.5 Software Engineer: ML Applications

Field AI is transforming how robots interact with the real world. We’re looking for software engineers who are passionate about defining and evolving human-robot interaction with robots of all shapes and sizes. This is a unique opportunity to combine technical expertise with creativity, building real-world systems that make collaboration with our robot co-workers intuitive, effective, and fun.

Create robust, user-friendly web interfaces and integrate security-focused features to manage user access and permissions. The ideal candidate will not only have a strong grasp of modern front-end development but will also be knowledgeable about designing processes for user management, role-based access control, and secure application flows.

• Develop, implement, and maintain web UIs using JavaScript and associated frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js)
• Collaborate with backend and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration of user management systems
• Design and apply role-based access control mechanisms and management processes
• Work on three.js / WebGL and similar libraries to build interactive data visualization tools, such as point cloud editors
• Support front-end development for ML infrastructure interfaces that trigger job processes on AWS
• Ensure best practices in user authentication, session management, and data security are upheld
  

• Strong expertise in JavaScript and experience with modern web development frameworks
• Direct, current experience with libraries like WebGL, Three.js, or D3.js for data visualization
• Proven knowledge in access control models, user role management, and implementing secure UI components
• Familiarity with backend communication (APIs, WebSockets) for user authentication and data handling
• Basic understanding of database operations and integration
• 3 years experience with AWS services and cloud-based front-end interactions
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and common vulnerabilities (e.g., ensuring protected routes, preventing unauthorized access)
• 3 years experience with UI frameworks that support scalable, modular development
• Familiarity with tools and practices for handling user permissions dynamically
  

Compensation and Benefits

Our salary range is generous ($70,000 - $300,000 annual), but we take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary; base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  Also, while we enjoy being together on-site, we are open to exploring a hybrid or remote option.
