What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer position at FIELD CONTROLS, LLC?
Essential Job Functions :
- Run, review and action MRP purchasing recommendations.
- Release, expedite, defer or cancel purchase orders as needed.
- Maintain purchasing related supplier master and item master data in ERP system.
- Review open order reports, take action as needed.
- Manage purchasing Kanban system and cards.
- Create and distribute supplier scorecards. Review with suppliers as needed.
- Participate as a member of the Cost Reduction Team.
- Provide purchasing and project support to Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Warehouse, Accounts Payable and Sales departments as needed.
- Conduct supplier audits as needed.
- Participate as a member of the ABC Inventory Project – assist in improvements on lead times, terms, order quantities, stocking agreements, consignment, etc.
- Source components for new products.
- Monitor domestic and overseas inbound freight. Work with brokers or carriers as needed.
- Lead or assist on purchasing projects and initiatives, as required.
- Support and fill in for Supply Chain Manager or Purchasing Coordinator as needed.
- Strive for continuous improvement in such matters as on time delivery, cost, quality and customer service
- Other duties as assigned.
