What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer position at Field Controls?
Essential Job Functions: · Run, review and action MRP purchasing recommendations. · Release, expedite, defer or cancel purchase orders as needed. · Maintain purchasing related supplier master and item master data in ERP system. · Review open order reports, take action as needed. · Manage purchasing Kanban system and cards. · Create and distribute supplier scorecards. Review with suppliers as needed. · Participate as a member of the Cost Reduction Team. · Provide purchasing and project support to Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Warehouse, Accounts Payable and Sales departments as needed. · Conduct supplier audits as needed. · Participate as a member of the ABC Inventory Project – assist in improvements on lead times, terms, order quantities, stocking agreements, consignment, etc. · Source components for new products. · Monitor domestic and overseas inbound freight. Work with brokers or carriers as needed. · Lead or assist on purchasing projects and initiatives, as required. · Support and fill in for Supply Chain Manager or Purchasing Coordinator as needed. · Strive for continuous improvement in such matters as on time delivery, cost, quality and customer service · Other duties as assigned.
