We value discipline, efficiency, and professionalism. We are seeking an experienced Development Asset Manager to join our team and contribute to the success of our projects.
Position Overview
The Development Asset Manager will oversee financial underwriting, architectural design, and project coordination from inception through construction and lease-up. This individual will serve as a key liaison between design, construction, and property management teams, ensuring that projects align with the company’s strategic vision and uphold the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive financial underwriting and modeling to evaluate development opportunities.
- Oversee and manage architectural design processes to align with project goals and aesthetics.
- Negotiate and oversee bidding and contracts, with a particular focus on AIA agreements.
- Coordinate and lead regular meetings with design professionals to review drawings and provide ownership feedback.
- Lead regular OAC (Owner, Architect, Contractor) meetings, including:
- Design Aesthetic Reviews: Bi-weekly focus on design elements.
- Technical Reviews: Bi-weekly focus on detailed construction and engineering aspects during SD, DD, and CD phases.
- Collaborate with construction teams and property management to ensure seamless project execution and lease-up.
- Work closely with the Entitlement Director to ensure utility coordination remains on track.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal company standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Degree in Architecture, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced degree in Real Estate Development preferred.
Experience:
- Five years of industry experience in real estate development or construction, preferably with completed multifamily projects.
- Candidates with slightly less experience but strong qualifications may also be considered.
Skills & Expertise:
- Strong expertise in finance, financial modeling, design, or construction management.
- Deep understanding of architectural and construction processes, including technical details.
- Experience working with AIA agreements and contract negotiations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders while maintaining a strong ownership mentality.
