What are the responsibilities and job description for the MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN position at Field Memorial Community Hospital?
Responsible for performing all laboratory procedures and use of computer system for order entry and test reporting. Performs instrument maintenance and quality control in each area. Works under direct supervision of Laboratory Supervisor. Responsible for lab coverage during regular work shift and any other shift temporarily not covered. Responsible for inventory control, including check-in and placement and rotation of supplies. Must participate in Continuing Education program, COLA / The Joint Commission policy and procedures. Associate Degree in Laboratory Science or equivalent subject from an accredited college or university. Certification required. Two-year experience in general laboratory desired.
