Imagine a role where you are the vital link between healthcare providers and the life-saving Vaccines for Children (VFC) program. As a VFC Program Operations Specialist, you'll be a trusted advisor and educator, ensuring that children across Indiana have access to critical immunizations. You'll spend your days :

  • Empowering providers : Conduct on-site visits to healthcare offices, providing guidance and training on VFC program compliance, vaccine storage and handling, and best practices.
  • Troubleshooting challenges : Respond to urgent temperature excursions, assist with office relocations, and provide expert technical support to resolve any program-related issues.
  • Building relationships : Collaborate with a dedicated team to support providers through the enrollment process, annual recertification, and access to essential training resources.
  • Making a direct impact : Your work will directly contribute to improving immunization rates and protecting communities from vaccine-preventable diseases.

  • Essential Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Quality Assurance Visits (50%) : Conduct on-site compliance visits, provide education and training, and document findings.
  • Provider Support Services (35%) : Assist with enrollment, recertification, technical support, temperature excursion response, and training.
  • Team Operations Support (5%) : Contribute to training materials, policy development, and process improvement.
  • Service Delivery and Professional Development (5%) : Participate in continuing education and training opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned (5%) : Support vaccine-preventable disease outbreak response efforts.
  • Required Qualifications :

  • Valid Indiana Driver's License and reliable transportation.
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 4 years of related experience; or 2-year degree and 2 years of experience; or 4-year degree and 1 year of experience.
  • Excellent customer service, client / case management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with quality assurance activities, technical assistance, and training.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Desired Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in community health, public health, or a related field.
  • Immunization program experience, including knowledge of vaccine storage and handling.
  • Experience working independently in a remote / telework setting.
  • Knowledge of CHIRP and VFC program operations.
