What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cable Installation - ISP extension (Lift use required) position at Field Services technician?
Technician to install long copper cable run from new ISP location to network room, detail in special instructions.
After hours installation. Expected time on site is 3-4 hours.
All required PPE must be supplied by technician.
Technician must be able to operate a scissor lift safely.
Documentation of cable test results is required - digital readout continuity tester is minimum requirement.
Documentation of cable OAL as determined by FT marking on cable.
Cable run will be longer than standard - maximum allowable is 656 feet in length.
Required tools, do not apply to this ticket without the following:
- Cable tester with digital readout
- 110 Punch-down tool
- Cable Labeler capable of creating wraparound labels and standard labels.
- Screwdriver and basic networking hand tools
- Camera Phone
- Snips
- Cabling tools - fish rods/tape, electrical tape.
Cabling must be run professionally and with minimal visibility from sales floor, must be neat in appearance at ISP and Network side. Velcro will be supplied and must be used to support cable run and for management of loop at each end, no zip-ties permitted.
Photos of cable management are required.
Photos of labeling at each end are required.
Documentation of cable length and passing test result are required.
Hardcopy paperwork requirement:
Must print documents in WO BEFORE Arriving to site.
Authorization letter must be hardcopy.
Turn-away due to lack of authorization letter in-hand on arrival will not be paid.
Dress code is mandatory - no ripped or torn/dirty clothing, must be neat in appearance, must have proper PPE for scope.
Removal from site due to inappropriate work wear or inability to complete due to not having listed tools will result in non-payment.
