Job Overview:We’re seeking experienced Fire Alarm Technicians to join our team for ongoing projects. This is a travel-based role, requiring skilled professionals to handle fire alarm installations, troubleshooting, and upgrades across commercial facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire alarm systems, security systems, and physical installations, ensuring all work meets industry and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and troubleshoot fire alarm systems, including panels (preferably EST), low-voltage wiring (Cat 5/6), and security devices.
- Perform physical installations such as conduit bending, panel replacements, and device mounting.
- Work with fire alarm security systems, CCTV, and door strikes.
- Resolve ground faults and complete system terminations effectively.
- Conduct system inspections and ensure compliance with safety codes.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in fire alarm installations, device troubleshooting, and burglar alarm systems.
- Licensing: State Fire License or Low Voltage License required.
- Certifications: EST certifications preferred but not mandatory.
- Other Requirements:
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Comfortable taking drug test and background check.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Physically able to perform tasks such as lifting, mounting, and wiring.
Travel Details:
- Frequency: Travel 45 weeks per year, typically 2-3 weeks at a time.
- Compensation:
- Per diem: $45/day plus covered hotel expenses.
- Drive time and mileage reimbursed for the first two weeks; company vehicle provided thereafter.
- Weekend travel home covered after three consecutive weeks of work.
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday, 50-hour workweeks.
- Weekends off, with optional weekend shifts available.
Preferred Background:
- Experience with companies like Johnson Controls or Siemens is a plus.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and installations beyond wiring tasks.
- Able to articulate knowledge of fire alarm systems, testing procedures, and panel configurations.
Compensation:
- Pay: $34 - $45/hour, depending on experience.
