What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Estimator position at Field Talent?
The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing project and bid strategies. You will do so by analyzing project proposals and historical cost data. Ultimately, your work will help us develop new business opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to identify potential challenges, risks, and opportunities.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs and develop comprehensive cost breakdowns.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to align estimates with project objectives.
- Request quotes from suppliers for equipment and materials.
- Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and solicit quotes. Review quotes for completeness with plans and specifications
- Itemize and quantify all incidentals necessary in preparing the bid packages including sub-contract work, equipment rental, tools, and supplies.
- Submit proposals and assist with negotiations to secure contracts.
- After the successful bid at project turnover, meet with Project Management to fully explain the estimate, scope of work, quotes and offer aspects for the successful transition of the project.
- Responsible for the timely completion of all client-required documents.
- Draft scope letter inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications for estimates
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in electrical estimating, with a proven track record of successfully estimating large and complex projects.
- High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
- Experience in commercial, industrial, or institutional electrical systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience with Conest or similar estimating software.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Salary : $90,000 - $125,000
