Assistant Sports Field Manager

Reports To: Sports Field Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
An Assistant Sports Field Manager is responsible for help in providing athletic field maintenance services on a day to day basis.
Essential Functions:
- Provide field maintenance including mowing, trimming, painting, and edging.
- Perform game set-up and tear-down as required
- Apply fertilizer, pesticides, and herbicides under supervision of Turf Manager according to OISC guidelines
- Maintain and repair equipment
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Competencies:
- Strong work ethic, reliable, timely, rapid learner, and goal-oriented.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: A minimum of a high school diploma or GED required.
Experience: No experience necessary. Experience in athletic field management or lawn care preferred.
Certificates & Licenses: Driver’s license. A pesticide applicators license is expected to be obtained within one year of employment.
Physical Requirements: May work outdoors in inclement weather, ability to lift >50 pounds on a regular basis, ability to operate heavy machinery.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
EX: Work is performed primarily in outdoor settings, in all weather conditions, including temperature extremes. Work hours are variable based on season.
COMPENSATION
Compensation range based on experience. This position is a non-exempt position. Employees are eligible for overtime in accordance with federal and state law. A guaranteed minimum base provided annually. Holidays and PTO guaranteed.
