What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Controller/Scheduler position at Fiers Heating & AC?
We’re looking for a Service Controller/Scheduler.
Service Controller/Scheduler's primary responsibilities include:
· Phone System: Service Controller/Scheduler answers and responds to any emergency or non-emergency calls to provide assistance or important information.
· Scheduling: Scheduling, dispatching, and coordinating service technicians to complete work orders taking into consideration location, technician capabilities, and urgency of work orders to ensure efficient planning and time-effective service calls. The schedule is a constant work in progress as new work orders and emergencies are always coming in, so this individual must have the flexibility and agility to adapt to our customers’ rapidly changing needs.
- Communication: Communicate closely with technicians as work is being performed to ensure high quality of work and clear scope. Relaying information such as work orders or other messages between customers and technicians, management, and suppliers, including updates on parts, appointment times, delays, or changes.
- Customer service: Assisting in resolving complaints or issues the customers might have.
- Organization: Keeping and organizing work requests, customer requests, completed work requests, charges for work performed, expenses for services performed, and other information. Review technicians’ notes and photos upon completion of each work order.
- Materials: Help to procure materials needed to complete work orders by either directly purchasing or following up on purchases by technicians with suppliers
- Billing: Ensure labor is allocated complete work in our customers’ time frame and budget, working with technicians and suppliers to obtain information as needed.
Other responsibilities of a Service Controller/Scheduler include:
- Keeping organized and updated customer files in a database
- General Office duties include filing, sorting, greeting customers

Hours:
Work schedule will consist of 7:30 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime work may arise.
