FIFA26 is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Tax Manager. Reporting organisationally to the Head of Financial Reporting, the successful candidate will be based in Miami, FL, and play a crucial role in leading and managing tax-related matters as well as providing specialist technical tax advice and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local statutory requirements in the United States and Canada.
THE POSITION
The main responsibilities and oversights of the Tax Manager for the FIFA World Cup 26™ include:
- Tax accounting and reconciliation: Assist in maintaining the sale and use tax related accounting records and periodical reconciliations.
- Manage periodical sales and use tax returns filing and remittance.
- Lead processes with state registration in new states, where applicable.
- Annual tax returns: Assist in preparation of U.S. federal and state Tax returns for tax-exempt organizations under section 501(c) (4) and supportive workpapers, prepare required IRS Tax Forms for domestic and foreign independent contractors; assist with annual Tax Return in Canada.
- Technical tax advice: Provide innovative tax planning opportunities and mitigate tax related risks, drive process improvements, and make recommendations.
- Internal control systems: Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard financial data and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Audit: Prepare and provide required documentation to respond to financial audits performed by external auditors.
- IRS and CRA: Manage and coordinate tax audits, respond to IRS/CRA and state auditors' information and document requests.
- External partners: Work with tax consultants to ensure tax compliance and mitigate associated tax risks.
- Internal partners: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, accounting, legal, and compliance, to address tax-related issues and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
- Other items: As requested, assist, coordinate and review transfer pricing requirements, intercompany agreements, country-by-country filing requirements and any other tax relevant items, as well as handling various ad-hoc projects as they arise.
Education & Qualifications
- Degree in Taxation, Accounting or Business Administration.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
- 5 years of working experience with the United States and international taxation.
- Big 10 or experience in working for a large assurance or tax advisory firm.
- Knowledge of sale and use taxes (SUT) and associated reporting processes.
- Knowledge of U.S. federal, state, local tax provisions with a strong understanding of or practical experience with tax laws in other countries, such as Canada.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret tax law.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to preventing, identifying, and resolving issues.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships and establish trust, respect, and confidence.
- Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) effectively at all levels within an organization.
- Ability to act with discretion when handling confidential information.

- Fluent in English.
