Location : ASC Surgery Center (Olathe, Kansas-New Site)

Reports To : Director of Operations

The Administrator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Ambulatory Surgery Center while ensuring high standards of clinical quality, patient safety, and operational efficiency. This role focuses on building a collaborative team environment, optimizing facility performance, and supporting staff development to achieve clinical and operational excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Operations Management :

  • Oversee the daily operations of the surgery center, ensuring that both clinical and non-clinical services are running efficiently.
  • Lead initiatives that drive operational excellence, including improving labor efficiencies, optimizing workflows, and ensuring resource availability.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Operations to implement best practices and standardization across departments.

Clinical Quality and Patient Safety :

  • Lead efforts to ensure clinical excellence by adhering to and promoting standardized quality care measures.
  • Foster a culture of patient safety by continuously evaluating and improving processes to reduce harm and enhance patient outcomes.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with safety protocols, including infection control, and drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at achieving zero harm.
  • Facility Partnership Performance :

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of clinical and operational professionals focused on achieving excellence in clinical quality outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with physicians and leadership to drive volume growth and enhance patient experience while maintaining high clinical standards.
  • Oversee key performance indicators (KPIs) related to facility performance, including labor management, cost control, and clinical quality.
  • Support for Teammates :

  • Build and nurture a collaborative team environment where clinical and administrative staff feel supported and motivated to deliver the best patient care.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Ensure that all staff are equipped with the tools, training, and guidance necessary to perform their duties effectively and in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance :

  • Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal healthcare regulations, including CMS, TJC, and AAAHC standards.
  • Ensure the facility is prepared for regulatory audits, leading mock surveys, and developing corrective action plans as needed.
  • Oversee the facilitys Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program, ensuring timely identification and resolution of performance issues.
  • Financial and Budgetary Oversight :

  • Manage the centers financial operations, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources and adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate billing, collections, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor and manage labor costs while ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet patient needs and operational demands.
  • Communication and Collaboration :

  • Serve as a liaison between the leadership team, physicians, staff, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of goals and efficient communication.
  • Ensure that staff are kept informed of any changes in policy, procedure, or operational updates.
  • Build strong relationships with the medical staff, ensuring that physician needs and concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • Patient Experience :

  • Oversee all aspects of the patient journey, from admission to discharge, ensuring that high standards of care and service are consistently delivered.
  • Respond to and resolve patient complaints and concerns, using feedback to improve overall patient satisfaction.
  • Work closely with clinical staff to continuously monitor and improve patient safety and care outcomes.
  • Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare operations or management, preferably in an outpatient surgery center or similar setting.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards (CMS, TJC, AAAHC).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Master's Degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Knowledge of medical billing, coding, and revenue cycle management.
  • Previous experience managing staff in a healthcare setting.
