West Town Bakery is growing and looking for friendly and caring, Delivery Drivers, who enjoy being around people and working in a fast-paced environment with a supportive small team. West Town Bakery is a locally-owned bakery bringing quality breakfast pastries, breads and sweets to the Chicagoland area. It's a fun place to work and a great place to start a career, as well. A Delivery Driver will be responsible for ensuring all orders assigned to their delivery route safely and completely arrive to its destination within a given delivery time window.
Essential Functions:
- Be familiar with the appearance of all product
- Quickly and accurately check that all items for all orders assigned to your delivery route are present
- Load all product for your route into your vehicle in a logical manner to be able to efficiently collect and deliver items upon reaching the destination
- Collect signature from Guest upon delivery of items
- Responsibly handle all Guest payments (if applicable)
- Clean and maintain company vehicle used upon completion of deliveries
- Bag all bread on cooling racks after all other duties are completed
Other Functions:
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the wholesale department as directed by the department manager or Lead Driver
- Comply with health and food safety standards, restocking items and cleaning
Physical Functions:
- Ability to stand/walk/sit a minimum of 8 hours or as needed
- Must be able to exert well-paced and frequent mobility for periods of up to 8 hours or as needed
- Be able to lift up to 40 pounds frequently
- Will frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate and key in data
- Work in both warm and cool environments
- Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish
