Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Balloon Fabricator to join our team in our Beverly, MA studio. As a Balloon Fabricator, you will be responsible for assembling, designing, and crafting custom balloon installations that align with our client’s visions and Fig Balloon Co. standards. This role requires a combination of creativity, precision, and technical skill in handling balloons, along with a strong work ethic and a passion for bringing special moments to life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Balloon Fabrication & Assembly (We will teach you!)
- Inflate and assemble balloon garlands, columns and other Fig Balloon Co. designs.
- Work with a variety of balloon materials, including latex, foil, and specialty balloons, ensuring all installations meet quality and safety standards.
- Studio Maintenance:
- Maintain a clean, organized work area in the studio, including proper storage and handling of materials and tools.
- Help organize and maintain the studio’s balloon inventory, ensuring that supplies are stocked and in good condition.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect balloons for damage or defects before use in installations.
- Ensure balloon designs are properly inflated, tied, and secured for stability and longevity.
- Installation Preparation:
- Assist in preparing balloon installations for delivery or on-site setup, including transportation and loading of equipment when necessary.
- Provide support during event installations, which may involve some physical labor, such as lifting and carrying materials.
- Customer Interaction (when needed):
- Occasionally assist with customer orders, offering advice and helping them choose the best balloon options for their event.
- Ensure all client requests are communicated clearly to the design team and executed according to expectations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Prior experience in balloon design, event decorating, or a similar creative field is preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
- Ability to quickly learn balloon fabrication techniques, both for traditional and unique designs.
- Cricut Machine Experience is a plus, on-the-job training will be provided.
- Creativity & Attention to Detail:
- Strong artistic sense and a keen eye for color, shape, and design composition.
- Ability to work from design briefs and execute balloon installations with precision and attention to detail.
- Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, lift and carry up to 40 pounds, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable with using various tools and equipment for balloon fabrication.
- Team-Oriented:
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with designers, installers, and studio staff.
- Willingness to take direction but also offer ideas and input during the creative process.
- Strong Work Ethic:
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage time effectively in a dynamic, sometimes high-pressure environment.
- Must be dependable and punctual.
- Flexibility:
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, especially during peak event times.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in balloon installations or event decorating is a plus.
- Experience working with helium and air-filled designs, as well as knowledge of balloon techniques (e.g., creating balloon garlands, organic balloon designs).
- Familiarity with basic event planning or customer service skills.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
