Figure 9 Construction is seeking a Lead Field Tech / Quality Control specialist to provide technical expertise, quality oversight, and onsite support for our construction projects. This role is hands-on and onsite, working directly alongside the crew to ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.
The Lead Field Tech will play a critical role in supporting the crew by ensuring they have the right materials, tools, and methods to complete their tasks effectively. This position also requires problem-solving in real time, including answering video calls and technical questions about specific construction processes, materials, and installation methods.
This is a leadership role that requires strong construction knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well with both the crew and customers. The ideal candidate is someone who can quickly assess challenges, provide clear guidance, and maintain quality control across multiple job sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Review plans and materials to ensure that all project requirements are met before and during construction.
Support field crews by assisting with material, tool, and method selection to enhance productivity and precision.
Be available to answer technical questions and troubleshoot issues in real-time, including taking video calls from crew members regarding installation techniques or specific project details.
Verify that all work adheres to company and industry standards through quality control checks.
Grant final approval on completed projects, ensuring that all work meets expectations before sign-off.
Create punchlists for job closeouts, manage and ensure they are completed
Communicate project updates, changes, and necessary adjustments to customers.
Work on-site with the crew, assisting with task execution and troubleshooting as needed.
Prioritize customer satisfaction and project efficiency by maintaining a service-oriented approach.
What We’re Looking For:
Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and troubleshooting techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly explain processes to crew members and customers via phone or video.
Experience in residential or light commercial construction.
Ability to prioritize crew success and customer satisfaction and understand the service nature of construction projects.
Comfortable taking video calls and answering real-time technical questions from field personnel.\
