This position will encompass all four offices of Filer Credit Union and will include collaboration with all departments with-in Filer Credit Union, but the main location will be at Main in Manistee.

POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for creating, managing and designing an online presence using various forms of social media platforms. The creation and design will increase the visual branding of Filer Credit Union, build a target of website traffic within our communities forming awareness and engagement, while monitoring interactions of conversations and analyzing information to improve strategic growth. Graphic design and motion graphics will be necessary to solidify visual messaging via social channels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Assumes responsibility for developing and maintaining Social Media platforms.
a. Respond and maintain all social media platforms while working independently in a fast-paced environment.
b. Co-Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification.
c. Generate, edit, publish and share content (original text, images, video, etc.) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to act.
d. Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of company’s social content
e. Moderate all user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community
f. Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information
g. Collaborate with all departments and clients to manage and coordinate identified actions needed to complete designs and social campaigns.
h. Create dynamic motion graphics from concept to output execution incorporating typography, visual effects and sound design to enhance the overall impact and engagement of content
i. Support various platforms and channels including social media, websites and digital advertising
j. Participation in Community Relations activities as assigned
k. Other tasks related to social media assigned by department head (Director of Innovation)
l. Possesses the knowledge and skills in industry-standard design tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
m. Possesses the knowledge and skills in modern social media tools, such as Canva, Capcut, Etc.
2. Assumes responsibility for developing and supporting a wide range of social media activities.
a. Designs, develops, and implements social media platforms and materials for Filer Credit Union.
b. Evaluates social media platforms for strategic growth, planning and inspiration of others.
c. Attends events related to Filer Credit Union.
d. Develops social media designed for all events pertaining to Filer Credit Union.
e. Works with team and relevant consultants to brand Filer Credit Union
f. Clearly articulating Filer Credit Union’s mission and culture in all designs.
g. Delivers a professional public relations image for themselves and Filer Credit Union.
3. Assumes responsibility for effective communication between Innovations Director, Filer Credit Union staff and the public.
a. Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills.
b. Manages social media relations and maximizes social media opportunities, keeping Innovation Director abreast when the credit union is featured on any social media channel.
c. Effectively conveys information as needed verbally, in email and in writing as needed.
d. Attends, prepares, and participates in all required events and meetings.
e. Responds to email, voicemail and inquiries in a timely manner.
4. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and management.
a. Supports personnel with other duties as needed.
b. Coordinates with related departments as required.
c. Ensures work area is clean secure and well maintained.
d. Stays current in all social media platforms.
e. Comply with U.S. Patriot Act and the Credit Union’s Bank Secrecy and OFAC Policies and procedures.
f. Comply with the Gramm-Leach -Bliley Act and the Credit Union’s Information Security program, maintaining the privacy and security of information, systems, and locations.
6. Credit Union Employee
a. Ensures work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
b. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
c. Participates in credit union committees and special events that may be afterhours and or weekends.
d. Completes special projects as assigned.
e. Other duties as assigned by manager.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, social media, journalism or equivalent experience.
Required Knowledge: Knowledge of computer applications.
Knowledge of designs and design programs.
Understanding of social media function.
Sensitive to the unique needs of staff, members and vendors.
Understand the Google Analytics platform and the opportunities it provides.
Experience Required: Two years of related experience. Proven work experience in social media or as a digital media specialist.
Skills/Abilities: Well Organized.
Attentive to detail.
Excellent communications and public relations abilities.
Ability to work effectively with employees, members, vendors, etc.
Knowledge and ability to work with computers, technology and design programs, both motion/designs.
Analytical, efficient and capable of solving complex social media challenges.
